Origo BPO crosses 300th employee mark, pandemic a major growth driver
Philippine-based business process outsourcing (BPO) firm Origo recently crossed its 300th employee mark attributing the milestone to the shift in labor and employment practices brought forth by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It’s been a blessing for us,” Yassin Shaar, chief executive officer (CEO) of Origo said while talking about the company’s growth during the pandemic in a panel discussion at the Payoneer Outsourcing Forum 2022 held in Clark, Pampanga on November 26.
“We just crossed our 300-employee mark yesterday. It is quite an honor,” Shaar shared.
Origo, a company that started in 2015, caters to fast-growth mid-market companies. And during the pandemic, Shaar said that more companies saw the value proposition offered by the outsourcing industry.
“Our clients realized that with the credit crunch everything is getting more expensive and they need to get more value from their buck,” Shaar added.
Shaar explained that with the realization, more of their clients increased their seat requirements by 20 per cent. He added that their clients, which are based in English-speaking countries, saw that outsourcing provides reasonable staffing costs while delivering more productivity compared to their on-shore counterparts.
“The clients are realizing that the game is global employment. Our clients are competing locally but operating globally,” he said.
Shaar also noted that value creation, alongside the new employment practices induced by the pandemic, is among the significant drivers of the company’s growth.
“If you want to attract high-value clients you have to focus on the end results… And let our performance prove our value,” he explained.
Origo is a BPO firm based in the Philippines. Since it was established in 2015, it is able to build remote teams for mid-market companies. Origo is also currently subscribed to the Outsource Accelerator (OA) Source Partner Program, a powerful tool that helps BPO firms with marketing, sales, and business intelligence. The program also co-promotes its partner BPOs to OA’s web traffic and inbound leads and assists them in generating sales.
