Sourcefit employees plant 800 trees in reforestation effort
QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES — One hundred employees from Sourcefit, a global Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company, participated in a tree-planting initiative at the La Mesa Nature Reserve in Quezon City, Philippines.
Through its eco-friendly “Soilmate Project,” Sourcefit encouraged its staff to connect with nature by adopting and dedicating a seedling to a loved one. This helps reduce the company’s carbon footprint, a measure of human impact on climate change.
Planting trees is key to fighting global warming as it reduces carbon emissions. Sourcefit launched the project in 2022 with the Haribon Foundation and expanded it this year by partnering with ABS-CBN Foundation’s Bantay Kalikasan.
The La Mesa Watershed is Metro Manila’s “green lung,” absorbing substantial carbon emissions and providing drinking water.
Volunteers planted 800 seedlings, including Lawaan and Sandalwood varieties, during a one-hour trek to the site.
The initiative mitigates 80 tons of monthly emissions and 1.6 million liters of potential flooding.
Beyond environmental benefits, Sourcefit believes such CSR activities boost morale, teamwork, and job satisfaction by allowing employees to make a real difference. The project reaffirms Sourcefit’s commitment to positive change in the communities it serves.
Sourcefit provides BPO services to various companies in the IT, marketing, banking, hospitality, retail, telecom, and advertising industries. It is currently subscribed to the Outsource Accelerator (OA) Source Partner Program, a powerful tool that helps BPO firms with marketing, sales, and business intelligence.
